There is special Guaranteed Issue OPEN ENROLLMENT (no medical exam / underwriting) through January 24th for all physicians and CRNAs.
Sarasota Memorial Health Care System currently provides Group Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance to help you prepare for the possibility of a disabling injury or sickness. It replaces up to 60% of your eligible earnings, to a monthly maximum of $10,000.
As Sarasota Memorial Health Care System pays for the cost, any benefits received would be taxable. You may need additional coverage to help meet financial obligations in the event of a long term disabling injury or illness. Supplemental Individual Long Term Disability Insurance can help replace more of your income if you have a covered disabling illness or injury.
Voluntary Coverage You Own and Can Take with You
This Supplemental Individual Long Term Disability Insurance allows you to voluntarily purchase additional individual coverage that you would own from day 1 and could take with you if you ever left Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, at the same cost & benefits.

Some features of this supplemental program include:

Guaranteed Issue (No Medical exam / underwriting) if actively at work past 180 days.

“Own occupation” definition of disability

Higher income replacement up to a max of either 75% of income or $10K benefit which would pay in addition the employer paid Group LTD benefit

Guaranteed increase options (up to the contract maximum) as income increases.

Option to exchange (without medical underwriting) to Long Term Care Insurance between ages 60-70 this is unique to this program.
